Spicewood Live! On Stage Presents Blue Water Highway Performance

March 6 @ 6:00 pm9:00 pm

Blue Water Highway is a beloved Americana/folk-rock band from Austin, Texas, recently back on stage by popular demand. Formed in 2013 by childhood friends Zack Kibodeaux and Greg Essington, the group draws its name from the scenic coastal highway near their hometown—from the Brazos River’s mouth to Galveston.
What Makes Them Shine
Vocal harmonies & heartfelt story-songs
Their music weaves soulful three-part harmonies with narrative-rich lyrics, blending folk, blues, classic rock, and country into a timeless yet fresh sound.
King-sized touring résumé
With over a decade of touring—sharing stages with Bob Seger, Reckless Kelly, Big Head Todd, Turnpike Troubadours, and more—they’ve played nationally and internationally, earning acclaim.
Critically praised albums
Albums like Paper Airplanes (produced by Cason Cooley) led to The Austin-American Statesman calling them “one of Austin’s best Americana acts” with national potential. In 2023 they released the ambitious, self-produced Year of the Dragon, delivering Southern‑Gothic tension and genuine Americana warmth.
Evolving & anticipated
Known for balancing gritty festival-ready tunes like “Natural Man” with heartfelt ballads like “Newborn Child” and “Morning Glory,” they’ve mastered their artistic identity.
Their newest studio project, Waiting on a Wonder (2024), is out now.
